Dance jobs Leicester [ teach what you love · invoice for it ]

Nineteen teaching roles across the hen diary and the weekly listings, paying from £24 p/h in Leicester City Centre. Bring the style and the patience — rooms get hired for you and filled with adults who chose the class, while the paperwork never crosses onto your side of the desk.

The audition is a phone call

Put your styles and honest availability in the form, and the rota-builder rings you for a real conversation. There's no audition panel, no corridor showcase, no unpaid "taster" rebranded as a favour to you. What you choreograph belongs to you — teachers here compose their rooms live, and that authorship is the whole point.

A CV does the job too — jobs@leicesterdancecentre.co.uk reaches the identical desk and earns the identical phone call.

The hen side and the class side are staffed as two separate rotas — plenty of teachers straddle the pair, others pick a lane. Say which once, and it's honoured.

What the noticeboard advert should have said — no drawing pins, no corridor auditions.

A human reads it; a phone call answers it.

The shape of the work

A weekly class begins the moment its interest list justifies a room: one gets booked centrally and you're handed a floor of adults who put their names down for precisely your style. Hen work is the same teaching at party tempo — a themed hour in a hired room, choreography invented there and then for whoever's stood in front of you.

The floor rate is £24 an hour in central Leicester, put in writing before you teach a minute and climbing as your diary does. With no premises of our own there are no premises politics — nobody splits rent, sweeps floors or gets press-ganged into a showcase. Full-time freelancers, weekend moonlighters and teachers coming back after years away all slot in.

Venues, registers and money all get dealt with elsewhere; the part that remains yours is the teaching.

Style not on the board? Send the form regardless — every so often the interest lists conjure a twentieth listing into being, and it helps to already hold your number when they do.

Ask before you polish the CV

Whatever's left over: jobs@leicesterdancecentre.co.uk, or put it in the form.

What qualifications do you actually look for? +

What's required is teaching ability — demonstrable, patient, comfortable in mixed adult rooms. Paperwork makes the phone call easier; a room that rebooked you makes it easiest.

Employed position or freelance arrangement? +

Freelance and invoiced. You accept or pass on offered slots as suits you, with no friction in either direction.

How much rota could I realistically build? +

That's the interest lists' decision, not ours. Some teachers hold a single weekly class; others run several evenings and take hen bookings on top. Both count as the arrangement working.

Is there a set syllabus I'd deliver? +

No syllabus exists here, deliberately. The material is yours, written for whoever turns up; our half of the bargain is venues, registers, payment and paperwork.

Where does the teaching physically happen? +

In rooms we hire around central Leicester, with the address confirmed to you well in advance — nothing mysterious, nothing leased long-term.
